Question My turbo archive...any good?

Hi all,

I own a vbulletin forum, from what i hear the archive that comes with vbulletin isn't great when it comes to SEO. What i have done is created a second archive for my forum that follows SEO procedures. I could have created the whole thing dynamically but i decided to make it as pure HTML insted. I also tried to let it comply with XHTML standards as well.

Here is the code:
Code:
 	<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
 <html>
 <head><title>Young Computer Programmers Forum</title>
 <meta name="keywords" content="forum, programming, visual basic, c++, php, mysql, kids, young" />
 <meta name="description" content="Forum aimed at young people that are interested in computer programming" />
 <link title="Young Computer Programmers Forum RSS Feed" href="http://www.youngcoders.com/external.php?type=php" type="application/rss+xml" rel="alternate" />
 </head>

 </html>

You can see it here.

Basically i would like to know if that is good SEO-wise, suggestions for improvements are appreciated as i would like to be crawled to infinity!

I also placed a link to it in the normal vbulletin archive called "Turbo Archive". Would it be best if i completely replaced the normal archive with it? Or should i just leave it as a link?

Thanks in advance,

YoungCoder

Arte you sure its a good idea to make another version ? It would make you three versions of the same content... (i have a vbulletin forum too).... actually i just optimised the existing archive version.... and i know some of the vbulletin users who forbid access to normal forum to have just one same content (for practical reasons i think its not the best) .............. if Google sees three pages with same content he will eliminate two ones

There are hacks on vbulletin.org that improve the default archive. That or you can do something like I have done on my forums

http://www.sportcompactracing.com/vbulletin

check out the url's in the forums and in the threads. No need for an archive with those ;)

I used to link the heck out of my archives. I still get tons of traffic from it, but if I can get google to index my main content with keyword rich url's, then that's even better. I would rather have my guests do a search that returns them to the main pages with all of my content anyway. If anyone wants to do what I did to their forum I will put together a turorial for you guys. Well, as long as you don't run an automotive forum ;) lol

I optimized the phpbb forum i had before this way, but it needs a lot of work, and will have to be done again, with next vbulletin update.

That's a great start. If you want I can help you modify that a bit to add keywords into the url's dynamically.

I'll get together a how to when I get home tonight and put it up. I got most of the info from 3 or 4 different message forums that each had pieces. It does take some messing to get it all working together, but I have it down pretty close to perfect now.
