No, not having the file won't make a difference. You only need the file if you want to disallow robots from visiting files or folders.

The problem though is you're stuck looking at "today's merits" when you should be forward thinking. Please tell me how you know what the value of your category will be a month, a year, or 2 years from now. For argument sake if the cat was PR7 or PR8 would you pay the $40 dollars?

beeeeeeeeeeeb!!!!!!!!! SORRY the price is now $200 "per month" - I guess that $40 deal would have been better - eh! ;) Remember that Yahoo was free at one time.

Just the same PageRank is not the holy grail.

But $40 for the life time of the directory it an extremely good investment - if based on advertising expense over 5 years that's $0.02 per day $0.60 per month and as a business if sixty cents a month is "just too steep" man you really need to close shop.

I'll pay the $40 for you if you can show in 5 years that you didn't get any return on it... OK

A. Keywords

e. Good Content - no manipulation for search engine
f. Got rid of the js in the code and put it in an external file
g. At the bottom of each page use menus as text links
h. Submited site to ODP and Yahoo Dir
i. No doorway pages

I am feeling dam bad after working so hard no results at all ....still trying to put a lot of efforts & trying to analyse as what do do after all this ??????

I've implemented a double title and I can't say if it definately helped or not, but for sure, it didn't hurt my ranking.

The reason why I'm not sure if it helped or not is because I've also implemented a lot of other suggestions.

Try adding the double title, wait a week and see what happens.

This sounds like an interesting thing to try. I might try it on one of my smaller (but still highly competitive) sites.

Post Google PR & API Co-relation?

INTERESTING!!!
Really Interesting!!!
What is the outcome of the "Double Title"?
A friend of mine launched a fresh (brand new) site http*//www.solutions2day.com a month back.
Till date the PR is ZERO (0). Till date, this site has got about >90 hits from Googlebot...but is yet to show up on Google.

After an indepth analysis, the only bug I could figure out was:
A Google API Search provided on the site i.e. Google Web APIs service.
Though it is mentioned next the search box as:
[This search feature is solely for personal, non-commercial use.]

I think this was pushing/generating query to Google & that was not being appreciated. So, this was in a way causing Google to black-list the site (what else could stop this site from showing up on Google?).

As I post this, almost 60 days has passed by (from the launching date) & till date this site on Small Business Solution is to get Big G's light.

What else can be tried?
Would Double Title help?
Does this mean developers should keep Google API work confined to intranet? [or am I totally wrong in figuring out this error?]

Regards
WC

Arrow Backlinks for www.solutions2day.com

Ok.
FYI:
  1. linkdomain:www*solutions2day.com on MSN returns 6 results
  2. linkdomain:www*solutions2day.com in HOTBOT returns 7 results
  3. link:www*solutions2day.com at AllTheWeb returns 6 results

What next? :-|

simple-biz,
I have one question, I looked at your site and I couldn't help but notice that you charge people to submit. www.google.com/addurl.html You can do it there for free and you're going to charge people for doing this once a month? Why would you want to submit all the time, that's going to do nothing.

Amateurs SEOs try to make submiting seem like it's some technical and difficult process that needs a pro to do. Some of your info is good, but vague. It's obvious you're just promoting your business instead of offering real advice.
