Question Multiple domain hosting on same IP?

In shared hosting environment one server run multiple domains. Does it make difference in SEO if there are multiple sites hosted on same IP address?
What's importance of Class C IP compared to other subnets?
If we host our sites on different ip's then it should be from different subnet or just different IP in sequence will do. For eg
    1.1.1.1
    1.1.1.2
    or
    1.1.1.1
    1.1.2.1

    Thanks ;)

In general hosting a shared platform is perfectly fine.

Where it can cause a problem is if the IP or a domain on the site has been black listed.

Use www.domaintools.com reverse IP lookup and domain checker.

If you can get a dedicated IP address it is worth it, it means there is less chance of having a penalty.

If you don't link to the other domains on the same C Block it won't cause you a penalty.

I have had a domain on a shared server where the provider got its whole domain black listed, it didn't effect my SERPs or traffic at all. I was suprised by this though.

Is there any tool to find out if IP is blacklisted or if any domain on shared IP is blacklisted?

So if backlinks are on same block of IP then it's considered spam?
Is it for class C or class A too?

For link building what we should consider in IP range?

If we take multiple hosting for our domains and link them with each other what we should consider for IP. It is on different range?
    Our shared hosting is on
    69.44.201.X
So if we host on 69.44.202.x range or 69.44.203.x is fine?
    or
we take IP from company with different last two octet in IP are different.
    69.44.x.x
    69.44.y.y

    Thanks

subzero27 comment on not interlinking sites on the same C class IP is very important!

I have 30 adsense sites on the same C Blcok all within the same theme. I would love to link them but I don't due to the risk.

It is clearly obvious that same C Block links are not natural. I would advise against interlinking sites on the same C Blcok IP.

yes infact i know people having 100 websites but they never interlink them even if it is closely related.

Its better to stay away from it.

We have different domains hosted on different IP range means
    4.4.x.x
    8.8.x.x.
    64.98.X.X
    72.32.x.x
    195.100.x.x

And we have 5 domains. By interlinking them will help in search engine?
There are hosting companies now a days offering hosting packages on different servers they says it help in SEO. So having sites on different IP will really help in SEO?

Basically having local ip's will get you the boost when somebody from that geographical region searches by your keyword.

    Interlinking sites on same IP

Is it a bad decision to interlink even if the sites are clearly related, as in the same parent company? I.E. General Electric - Washing Machine website - Kitchen Appliance website - Lightbulb website?

If it is a bad idea, then perhaps using a drop down menu containing links that wont be followed?

Someone suggested a>b b>c c>d without ever closing the loop, but in this case being able to show all the websites in the "family" would be preferred.
