Multilingual optimization
Ok.. I have a multilingual site english/german..
the site and most of the content is fully translated.
When a user access a page, the browser accept language is checked via php and he is sent the appropriate content according to the language of his browser. He of course can click a little country flag which sets a cookie if he is not happy with the language offered.
german only search engines (like abacho) also get to see the german content only, when i know the ip of the spider..
Now what about google? are there different bots that spider different languages??? or are all languages spidered by the same one?
What i would like is being listed in g**gle.de with german content and in g**gle.com with english content. Both pointing to the same site. Is that possible?
Of course I could also build bridge-pages on other domains. One in german, one in english. register them both and set the language of the main site through the referrer. But will i be penalized if G**gle spots 2 different contents (language wise) on the same page of the same site?
Thanx for your time
Luc
