    Moved site, SERPS messed up

    Hi All,

While I'm no expert SEO by any stretch, I know a thing or two, and I'm baffled about what's recently happened to my site.

I moved from one host to another, and redesigned the site. I was careful to move the site so no directories or file names changed. Now, though, when I do a search for my company name (Rick Whittington Consulting) I don't like what I see in the SERP. One result shows just the URL and the other one listed shows a very old DMOZ description, even though I have the noodp meta tag in place on the site.

    Any ideas?

if you made some changes from your site, definitely it will affect your site, from PR to SERP. you need to star it all over again to regain what you have lost.

The site is in PHP (as was the old site) and the filenames are the same, and so are the .htaccess files. I added meta descriptions to most (but not all) of the pages. My rankings are still the same as they were, so I'm puzzled.

I'll also say that the title, meta tags, CSS definitions, etc. are read in via an include.

If you've transferred properly from one host to another, i don't think that it'll have a negative effect on your current rankings..

    Pls see this:
