Morror sites V Banning from SE's

every day i hear about people panicking about getting banned because they panick about having mirror sites.

can someone explain to me if they have been banned the reasons given please.

i ask because i often see many sites with the same content year after year and nothing happens to them.

example:

scentusa.com
scent.com.pl
promoinfo.et
promoscent.com

same content, ranks well on most engine for their keywords.

all owned by the same company.

i have watched this gruop of sites for over 4 years and they always rank well.

their PR is always either zero or 3 and they still continue to do ok so i also feel like many others that designers spend way too much time on gaining good PR when its obvious to me that you can have a zero PR and still rank well if not number one when others have 5/6/7 PR.

any comments on those sites and feedback on mirror sites welcome.

Site like those make the internet cr*p.

Try reporting to Google, not that they will take any notice.

p.s. I would also like to know what others would say. I have personally had no experience with mirror sites and being banned by using them, I guess on the main site you allow to be spidered and on mirror sites use robots.txt and block the entire site.
