None that I've seen with search engines. Seen some looooooooooooooooooong combinations to...lol

From the standpoint of repeat customers, you domain name should be easy to remember. The shorter the easier. For search results, prospect look at titles not typically domain names.

i agree to u that they look monstrous to the users if they get too loooooooooong but the fact is im having urls which are self explanatory in nature so they r not difficult to remember.

like for the info about "send email by mail agent" will have the URL like

http://www.mysite.com/how_to/send_emails_by_mail_agent.ext

this URl is self explantory and also the keywords in it.

But for me the main fear is that I heard that URL greter than 60 chars are discounted by google.

Is that true

well rather go for a system in which actual url are short.. better if in NOs. like domain.com/dir1/2.php

But also create a archive thingi. where only text and your url in keywords.. hope u are getting !

If you site is purely for search engines i think it is a very good idea.

I have been doing it with some great success alately.

People say `oh if you are gunna type the url and page extention in`

In four years on computers i have never typed the site url + the entire page extention.
