    Looking for SEO Company/ Individual

    Hi guys,
I am looking for an SEO Expert using Google compliant methods to boost SEO rankings.
Previously, I had bad experiences with 3 SEO companies so trying to get some good suggestions.
Can you guys suggest some good individual/companies that have good track record and are result oriented?

    Hi Thefundu,
How would you assess a lawyer, accountant or plumber?

You would probably raise a bunch of questions like those below. We can't make good suggestions because we don't know your answers to them:

    • Who are they?
    • Where are they?
    • What do they know?
    • What are their qualifications?
    • How much experience do they have?
    • Have they experience in your industry?
    • Who have they worked for?
    • What clients can you contact for a trade reference?
    • Who will be working on your account?
    • Who will be providing the different areas of SEO support?
    • What do you want them to do?
    • How do they quote their SEO services?
    • What performance metrics do they suggest?
    • How frequently will they be measured?
    • What are the consequences of poor SEO performance?
    • What are the details of their SEO service agreement?
    • How long do they want you to commit to an agreement?

Seems you have already had your fingers burnt.

You must ask for a written SEO service agreement!

When you do, why not throw a summary of the contract details through the forum and ask for feedback on it?

SEO is an ongoing process of:

    • Research
    • Planning
    • Implementing
    • Directing
    • Monitoring

The first step for an SEO should be to assess your site, its online competition and how your target clients search.

From that point they should be able to recommend various SEO activity options. These may involve your web developers, copywriters, staff, etc. It depends on how you support your website's growth.

If all they want to do is talk about link building, RUN AWAY! I'll bet that is the direction your 3 SEO failures came from.

Step back first - why SEO?

I would advise you to look for an online marketing company.

Absolutely but a SEO company will recommend SEO because that's what they do. A PPC company will recommend PPC. You need to find an all rounder who can consider and suggest the best channel(s) for your needs.

Not sure about this except with larger companies. I work with individuals and SMEs. We do service agreements once in a blue moon and we have no minimum contracts. We either get on or we don't and anyone is free to walk away anytime.

But you think leaving links to your website in a forum post will help you. How good can you be?
