    Link Path Importance

    Hi everyone,

I have a question about the importance of link paths. Let's say I have a page called services that shows eight different service types on that page. EI:

    Service 1
    Service 2
    Service 3
    Service 4
    Service 5
    Service 6
    Service 7
    Service 8

If someone clicks on a service then I want them to go to that specific service page. Would it be better to have them go to:

    website.com/service1

    or

    website.com/services/service1

I was unsure if either option offered more significant SEO benefits.

    Thanks

    Hi ,

I would recommend the following path- website.com/services/service1(name of service). You should use keyword in the url.

Thank you. Does everyone else agree and is it more SEO beneficial?

website.com/services/service1 is best choice as per users as well as search engine.

I personally would go for the other option website.com/service1 but that's only a personal preference, I'm not sure this will actually affect your rankings

My previous website url structure (for my professional website service pages) was /web-marketing/seo/ I changed it to /seo/ about one year ago and I havent' noticed any difference in rankings. But I'm happy with the url being shortener, it's easier to dictate it or just to bring it forward in a conversation.
