Link Building & Page Rank

Hi,

Im looking to build more links to my website to help achieve higher rankings in the search engines.

If my link is on a website that has a 'homepage page' rank of 4 but the actual page im linked from is 0 is that link still valuable or would my time be better spent trying to get links from individual pages with a PR1+ value??

The most important is page and theme (relevance) of inbound links. If the target page topic(theme) is related to the page where the link will be placed, this is a worthy link. Take note also if the site is not banned. Or other factors that will degrade the quality of the link. Does the page where you put the link is indexed by google? Please check also.

If the link is free and relevant, then by all means get the link.

Relevant sites is better than site that has higher PR but not related to your site.

focus on getting related links.. create articles in a unique and latest info's related to your site... that could get a lot of backlinks from your visitors..

A link is valuable whether it be PR0 or PR10. The trick is making sure your link growth seems natural (i.e. if you gain 300 backlinks in one day - that is bad, but if you gain 300 backlinks everyday, that is ok) and the key with that is consistency.

Another thing to consider is that your links come from different class c ip addresses. This way it looks like different sites are pointing to yours, increasing the value of these links.

Finally, even though the link you get today is only PR0, things change over time. As the page you have your link on increases in pagerank, so will its' effect on the page rank for your site. Just think of it as planting a bulb in the ground before winter, only to see a beautiful flower in the spring.... definitely worth the time.

Relevant links have importance but some time page rank can effect the value of your site also.So, try to links with same page rank of your site's page.

what about signature link from forum then? more often than not the content wont be same as your site. Does it mean that it is bad?

But, what about the quality of site?
Is our site wouldn't be effected by unrelevant links?
Think about the quality links. why many SEO expert suggest the site to link with relevant sites?

honestly i dunno. I am pretty new to SEO. i just build as much link as i can to my site and if it has quality plus its relevant, then its a bonus! hehe....
