link all site together?

I have 3 sites. Is it good to have link from all of them to each other on the bottom of every single pages?

Not really, especially if they all have similar content and are using the same host (IP block). If you dead set on doing it anyway, its better to have them link to different ones, not a straight recip link. There are others here who can advise you further.

Don't do it if the content is very similar.

If links on Site A to Site B are valuable additions for visitors to Site A then you can probably have links between three sites without a problem. I would not do more than one link out per page. And I would not have more than three sites in this small cluster. I have seen lots of sites link like this.

Hi,

It is a SEO myth that cross linking between web sites hurt rankings. I would not hesitate doing it if it is useful for the visitor. Links on the bottom of the page get less clicks so I would place the most important links above the fold.

I've seen this debate on many forums and seems like their is never a clear answer. I was reading in another thread earlier where they had the arugment that is bad to link multiple sites from one IP even if they are different domains and different content.

I guess I'm just getting confused what to believe....

I was at the SEO strategies conference in San Jose this month. Matt Cutts from google was asked about linking sites together. He said that if you have more sites linked in a network than you can name then you can get in trouble for it.

There was no discussion of how "tight" of a linking makes a network. I feel OK about having three or four sites interlinked... but if you have sites that are really important to you then you might consider being conservative.

Expanding this logic...... The problem might arise when you have site wide links to somebody else who also has a network and they give you big linkage back... PLUS they have enormous cross linkage on their network and maybe to someone else.... which makes your little network look like a wart on their arse when google decides they are manipulating pagerank.

Read this and see if you get the same thing out of it that I did

Thanks for your reply I think your answer here is first that I truely read about putting true validity into the discussion.

Plus, I don't feel as bad know having just a few sites linking from one IP address in the footer of my sites now, plus I know not to but any more.

Thanks again.

Use 3 way linking, not reciprical

link site a to site b, site b to site c, and site c to site a

Same IP?

All my sites are using Yahoo Merchant. Is that same IP? Can someone explain to me how is the IP effect the ranking?

Thanks

According to many statements listed above it is said that links that are traded from same ip address don't get the same effect.

New question:

Are you pentailized for links from same ip address links meaning that the links are just not as strong or are they not even counted. I guess I'm unclear on the penalty aspect of the links from same ip?
