keyword density
Can some one list the keyword densitys perfered by the major search engines in the body text? esp google?
Also does the keywords in the tags like meta count for the body text as a whole?

google has no 'preferred' as far as i can tell.
high density is not required as much as it used to be to get high rankings.
a good 'natural' mix is much better than a overly stuffed page.
it can be as low as .5 to 1 % and still do well.
but it can be as high as 7-9% and be fine too.
i prefer to lean to the low side with lots of related words in the mix.
...and the usual plurals/stemmings etc.

are you suggesting they start to penalize after 9%?

our natural keyword density for the homepage- before we even start optimizing- is around 10%.
