just curious

Hi all,

I can't seem to find the answer for this... but i have read in a lot of places that having bolded or using h1, h2 or italicizing your keyword(s) is a good thing. I just have a question... i use css to bold, italicize, etc... my text. Will bots read this as bold or italicize keyword? my code would read something like this keyword

pardon me if this is a stupid question...

I don't think that the bots read css.

I wouldn't assume bots read CSS, but why not just use bold or italics without the CSS? I can understand if you're messing with the font or color at the same time maybe, but for just bolding text I would expect you'd do much better to use the tag.

my css attributes for certain fonts set for certain size, colour, font type and bold.. so is much easier to do it this way than to enter bold manually.. another question i have is if = and = does it matter which one i use?

I don't know which style you're using for bold text, but remember that you can always redefine the look of the B tag etc.

So instead of always using your can make look like the caption you had in mind and have the added benefit of B tags. It makes sense too. One SPAN is just like the next - to a bot

BTW - I'm 99% sure that is as powerful as , and as strong as . And bold italics are even better sometimes, if used sparingly (you can't emphasise every word or phrase on a page - THAT'S LIKE SHOUTING)
