Is this a crazy idea?
Has anyone considered creating a friendly SEO competition?
Here is how I envision it: 1. Contest register here at SEO Chat 2. A Moderator Selects a Key Phrase 3. Contestants have 60 days to optimize sites (or one moderator confirmed google-dance cycle) 4. Contestants submit source code to moderators to insure that no spam techniques are used. 5. Contestant sites judged on Google Page Rank and SERP positioning 6. Winner gets a boost in their user ranking on this site (and mucho bragging rights) and of course: 7. The winner shares the top 10 tactics they used to get their rank Am I out of my mind - or would this be a cool way to show our SEO credentials? Stan Last edited by phatboy : July 6th, 2003 at 09:33 AM. |

Most professionals SEOs have propriety techniques that they would never leave open for competitors to analyse. Also few have the time for such projects, and how do you choose domain names?, what about pr. Some have more linking power than others...
The idea is good, in reality however it wouldnt work. |

I have to agree with Webby Im afraid, It is a good idea and many of us post ways of getting top rankings and give help to people in these forums but to let out all the little things that make the difference to public scrutiny from competitors is a bit like cutting your own arm off.
