Is buying a url good?
I typed in one of my target keyword in Google and I found this webiste rank #9. It has PR 4 and about 400 backlinks. The site's home page posted a notice saying it is closed for business. I check the whois database and it says that url is about to be expired in Sept, 2004.
Questions: 1. Should I purchase that url? 2. If yes, I am planning to write a one page informational base content to target that keyword and point that to my site. Would that help my site ranking and perhaps draw more traffic? 3. I use godaddy, they ask me if I want to back order that url. Is it the best way to purchase this url by back order it? Or is there a better way to gurantee I will get this link? Thanks. |

Quote:
Why not buy it if does not cost too much. then just use a 301 redirect back to your site. Try to contact the owner first b/c if the site expires and is deleted from whois then google will infact ban the site by removing the indexed data for the site and then if you get the site then the site would be new to google.. (but good posibiltiy you will still have bl to site from other sites (but google will drop that info) an alternative to godaddy backorder service is sedo.com.
