    I moved my blog - how long does after does the meta description update?


    Hello

    Yesterday I moved my blog from wordpress.com to wordpress.org

    in wordpress.org i added a meta description which i could NOT in wordpress.com. what appeared as
    the wordpress.com meta description was just the first 2 sentences in my article

    my questions is how long after can I expect the new meta description to appear in the google search
    result??

    And one more questions - when i move my blog I also changed my domain. how long after does the
    new domain appear in the google results?

    OK, you changed your domain completely. And you must do a page by page 301 redirect so google recognize that you have moved. Also, you have to submit your new website sitemap via google search console.

    If you do both of those, and if your meta descriptions are good enough to pass Google's standards (not too short, not too long, not too spammy) , then they should start showing.

    thanks for replying! that I did a redirect from my previous site which is wordpress.com?? if that is what you mean than yes, I did

    do you mean by " 301 redirect so" that I did a redirect from my previous site which is wordpress.com?? if that is what you mean than yes, I did (cost 13$ a year)

    Ok, did you thoroughly check your redirects? Can you click on all the old URLs and be taken to the new URL? If you keep the same page URLs, sans the domain, it is easier. Otherwise as BK suggests, you really need an individual redirect for page. If all of this is in order, Google can often make an update in 3 - 4 days.
