HTML optimaztion
Hi There.
I'm very new to the whole subject nd I've been told that it'll be good for a begining to start taking care of my HTML code first. I would like to know how to do it? where to begin? what not to do as well... Articles, Exmples and URL's are welcome! Thnks! |

If you really wan't to take care of your HTML-code there is only one way in my opinion, tableless design, also known as CSS-design.
Why? Answer: http://www.hotdesign.com/seybold/ You will find resources at the end of the article. Don't forget to visit CSSZengarden If you think this is something for you, then a visit here could be good: http://www.csscreator.com/ Validation is important when you are aiming for good HTML-code: http://validator.w3.org/ Also check your CSS: http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/validator-uri.html Then you should check your pages download-time: http://www.websiteoptimization.com/services/analyze/ Are your pages looking good in different browser's? Install Opera and Mozilla (Firefox). Don't wan't to? Well, check your pages here then: http://www.danvine.com/iecapture/ Mac could be difficult you say? Well, check it out here (Safari 1.2): http://www.danvine.com/icapture/ Didn't look good? Perhaps you have the wrong DOCTYPE then (it's usual, very few webdesigner's are using doctype correct). The answer is here: http://www.alistapart.com/articles/doctype/ EDIT: I also see that you have posted this question in another category, don't double-post! Delete this or the other thread.
