html code, what is ' - '?
I've noticed '-' appearing in html code, it appears to be where a hyphon once was! Where does it come from, what does it mean.
the more I learn, the more I ask !! I have to add some more to this as the '& # 4 5 ;' turned back into a hyphon (-) as i posted this message . It may be something and nothing as it looks fine on the page, but not in the code!! the more I ask, the more i learn Last edited by dave@harlequin : December 18th, 2003 at 10:57 AM. |

&_#_4_5_; is the ascii code for the "-" hypen character.....is that what you're asking?
Ignore the underscores above. They are there to prevent the hyphen symbol from appearing, instead of the code. I'm sure that there is a better way to display ascii code, but it didn't come to me in time. Last edited by GadeTerbob : December 24th, 2003 at 05:02 PM. |

Are you using frontpage? In some versions if you type a hyphen or use quotes " " then in the html you will get those characters. However, if you actually type in the quotes or hyphen in the html tab, then your html results will look proper.
