How to find infected files within hosting

My hosting provider told me that there are infections in my websites within my hosting , when i was trying to find out why the automated emails from my website didnt go through
How can I check and find the infected files or just bad files? How to scan?
I have may be 10 websites, and most of them are wordpress or vbulletin

This is a very good question, and at some point I have experienced the same thing.
Alas I don't remember exactly what I did to beat it, but I bet it involved a server-side text search for the offending code.

Can I ask you for the name (no URL or link) of your host?

    my hosting provider? godaddy

and the funny thing was, for example i have 3 vbulletin forum sites. from 2 of them emails are sent.

from one of them, no .this one was subject to lot of spam registrations in the past and for several months it had accumulated hundreds of thousands of spam messages. i didnt have a chance to fix for several months. then we resetted everything. this was 4- 5 years ago.

but now, i am thinking that may be because of that my site was blacklisted? but how were there new registrations then? it was not a lot but still

anyways... how can i clean the infected files within my hosting account please help me

Since you are on a Godaddy server, the chances are you using WP for your site.

    Theses should help you...

BTW the Google Search Term was "WordPress malware plugins".....

I personally use Sucuri too. Good Scanning tool. Or my favourite, db backup and check, restore files backup and update. More destructive but works well (careful about any file that might have been added to the server when doing this eg: latest images etc...)

for wordpress site from wordpress.org they suggested something similar yes, and i will also delete everything, except the images, and then reload wordpress and my theme and plugins

my main question however was for a vbulletin site. as i said above, out of 3 vb sites i have, 2 of them are fine, their emails go to users. but one of them, was subject to thousands of spam registrations in the past. may be the site is fine, but it is just blacklisted? if so what do I do? if infected what is the suggestion for scanning a vbulletin site?
