How do I continue to boost rankings?

I've recently launched a fully seo optimized website and it's done quite well in the first couple months but now the progress is starting to flatten out.

My question is this- how do I continue to manage and maintain this website so it will "continue" to go up in the rankings instead of stay the same or go down? Is it ALL about the link building now? Or is a "must" that I put fresh content on all of the "optimized" pages every week...?

I guess my main question is - what should I do on a daily or weekly basis to ensure my client's website continues going up in the rankings? All the grunt work is done. Suggestions are welcome!

Thank you.

Click on the SERPs link in my signature.

Just a thought: If you are doing this for a client, I sure hope you are not telling your clients that you know SEO. If you are servicing clients for SEO... why are you asking basic SEO questions?

I do know SEO and I feel that I know what works...but just wanted to get some others opinions...that's all. I usually continue with link building, watch the results weekly and tweak content, metas, etc. when neccessary...and continue this process once per week. But of course I link exchange almost daily.

Do you have any recommendations...what do you do? Thanks.

Great information and I appreciate it, but I guess my question does not have a "specific" answer because I do realize there are hundreds of factors that affect site rankings. And I realize this means keeping a journal of all changes I've made and learn from mistakes and accomplishments.

I would like to hear from other pros out there if you have any straight-forward advice on what you do on a daily or weekly basis to ensure performance of your campaigns.

Thank you.

Do you use prweb.com to distribute press releases? If not, what do you use? Also- I'm going to start blogging for future clients- can you recommend a good place to set up a blog that will be picked up by the major search engines? And when you say "submit promotional ads" - can you give me an example? Thanks!
