Home Page Content in Scroll Box. Is it safe for indexing purposes?
Hi, I work on a website and we are about to include content to the homepage of the website. The homepage looks great that we don't want to add content in such a way that users need to scroll down till the bottom of the page to read the entire content.
Therefore we decided to use a scroll box to add the content. My question is... Is it good to add the content to to the scroll box? Is it search engine friendly? Does search engines index the content present in the scroll boxes. Your advices please. Many Thanks... |

It is important to know what type of Scroll Box you are using. If it is "frame" then it is suggested - not to use that. If you are using "DIV" to have the effect, then there is no problem for crawler to read the content.

I second new_seo on this.
No iframes and no text areas. style your divs to obtain the scroll effect. Divs are perfectly readable by bots. You can always use a text view to see how your bot sees your page. |
