Highly Keyword Variation on a Page

    Hi! How are you?

Let's suppose that I have a category page on my e-commerce for "shoes".

I want this page to rank for a huge amount of keywords: "Sneakers, sandals, flip-flops", etc.
Thus, I can easily write a good content aiming these Head Tail Keywords but I also want to rank this page for LSI like the following: "shoes on sales", "sneakers for boys", "sneakers for girls", and these and more variations to every different model of "shoes".

The content for sure will have more 1000 words and will be a content that will help and give use tips for the customer.

My fear is that with a lot of variations and keywords with the same pattern ("shoes for girls", "sandals for girls", "sneakers for girls" all of them have the same pattern "category + for girls") Google will penalize me, even if I wont be doing this like a Black Hat SEO.

Is the strategy worthy or should I change something that will allow me to rank for Head Tail Keywords and a lot of Long Tail Keywords on the same page?

Why would I want to read about shoes for women when I want shoes for men, or vice versa. This is overworking a page.

Divide your keywords up in to categories and create pages for each keyword group. Meaning create a page for men's shoes, a page for women's shoes, a page for kids shoes etc etc.

To do otherwise is most likely a recipe for disaster. Why, because you will not be able to capture your audience's attention and keep them on the page.

Just my opinion, good luck if you decide to try your method.

    Thanks!

Well, I think that I will do the following:

Create a page for "shoes" and in this page I will just focus on ranking for keywords like "shoes on sale", "shoes for kids", etc.
Then, I will create two new pages: shoes for girls & shoes for boys. In these pages I will rank for variations like: "sneakers for boys", "shoes for boys", etc. More focused on the model and the gender.

    What do you think?

    Thanks again.

I think it's more about meeting the user intent.

Why would people searching for those things want to read about it?

On my category page for shoes I will show every shoes that I have on my store. At the end of the page I will give quickly descriptions about the models, when it is better to use one and another, how to keep the shoes to make them last longer... I wont write about the history of the shoes, for example.

I will just focus on pain points and describe some features that the customer can find on my shoes and then with these information he will buy more.

    Got it?

    Thanks!

    I get it, yeah.

But look at a phrase like "shoes for kids" and the top 10 where I am are all ranking with little to no content.

Unless you're offering some kind of specialist advice (e.g shoes for people with dodgy feet) I don't see how it adds any real value.

I think you'll get a small boost at best, so not sure if it would be worth the time.

    Just my thoughts anyway.

Check the Google database to find out what keywords are actually searched on. By knowing how many monthly searches are performed on a keyword, you will be able to weigh your choices better.

Since you have stated that you will write 1000 words so the repetition matters, if you will keyword stuff your content then you should worry for penalty otherwise its okay to use much keywords in ideal keyword density.
