High Keyword Density Issues
I have a little bit of a problem I need to address. My newest site at http://www.study-bibles.net has a keyword density of 25.86% for the term "study bible" In fact most of the interior pages of the site also have very high keyword density percentages for the term "study bible"
My problem arises since this site is a catalog of different Study Bibles, most of the link titles have the phrase "study bible" in the text. The individual product descriptions and purchase links have the term in the text as well. Frankly I do not see how I could reduce the density on this site and still have it be user-friendly. If anyone can take a look at the site and make any suggestions it would be appreciated. Thanks

You could add reviews of several of the study bibles to reduce the key word density or you could break it into multiple pages.
Density is a "tad" high 8) And this was noted by the program that I've started using: 3 possible PoisonWord(s): best click directory Cheers,

Actually I have that on the individual product pages. However it is the index page and some of the subindexes where the problem lies. Given that the keyword is in the title of virtually every product I am having a problem resolving this issue. The index page of this site is essentially the site map, so users can land on this page and find the title they are looking for. Essentially one click and they are on the product they want. My studies have shown that the less users have to click the higher the conversion ratios. I do have some additional text I can add to the index page that will hopefully bring it down somewhat. But again I do not want to sacrifice fuctionality and performance in any way. My plan for this site is to do some offline advertising and PPC SE's. My goal for Google is to obtain SE traffic for the specific title searches (ie. "NEW INDUCTIVE STUDY BIBLE") rather than for the generic "study bible" term. My main concern is being penalized for what would appear to be keyword stuffing, but in actuality is nothing more than simplicity in the design. |

I can't highlight on everything. One place to start lowering the keyword density is to take out 'study_bible' from the file names. I have a site with a domain like yours, in that its my target keyword, and to many keywords can be a problem. You could possibly structure your directory better. By start with the term study bible, and then list the types of them. Or as theBear said put them on multiple pages. Also, I don't think poison words are really going to matter much here, if you can establish good enough links, good higher Pagerank site links, then you should do fine.

if you work for a company xlmarketing.com why would you need to ask simple questions like this?
what exactly does xlmarketing.com do? and is this website for affiliate marketing purposes only? |

Ben
Thanks for the info. I am working on reformatting the index page and spreading the catalog over multiple pages without losing on the potential conversion. thewatcher, First off it is xlmarketing.net and that is just one of the domains I own. I am self-employed in internet marketing and have been for the past five years. Study-bibles.net is an an AM site and AM is a part of my overall business. |
