Help needed in SEO - I've no idea!!!
I've just put together a website on British Cinema and thought that was hard until I learnt about SEO!!
The web site is non-commercial, non-affiliated and I'm worried will appear at about 563 in Google if I don't
optimise it. Trouble is I learnt a week ago what optimisation was. Still no further no.

Thought of using spyderopts to do it - not sure if this works or if its legal with google...certainly grey water.

Only found out what a 'meta tag' is today, some of you are now laughing...

Really don't think I know what the hell I should be doing...

I have about 150 key words is that right? Film names, actors names etc.

I've registered with Google, yahoo, zeal etc.

Are there consultants out there who look at these things, trouble is I have no real budget to talk of as I'm
not going to make any money out of it.

Do any of you guys have advice...I would SO appreciate it. Hell I only used Dreamweaver for the first time
8 weeks ago!

Critter is correct. Find a post from dazzlindonna and look through the post under her signature: SEO for Newbies. That is a good place to start. Just relax, SEO is not rocket science. Once you get a few of the basics down by reading as much as you can on this board, you will find the logic behind SEO. I would not take any "grey" paths. Those roads normally lead to misery in the end. You will be able to do the SEO yourself with some guidance from some of the folks here. If you have any specific questions, i.e. non-general, come back and ask away. We normally are very helpful. :smile:
