    GTMetrix Virus?

    Hi guys,
I'm pretty sure one of the admins on this site was responsible for building GTMetrix.com - a great tool by the way.

I've been using it a lot recently however today I suddenly started getting adware issue with it and this only happens when using the London server... my score is much lower than if I run the Mumbai server and when looking into it further, I see lots of references to sb.scorecard.com which is a pixel type of adware/virus.

Just thought i'd let you know.

Hmm, I've not really seen anything like that on GTMetrix, I don't know if anybody here is one of the owners. I have however emailed them before, so I'll send them an email linking to this thread.

I sent a link to this thread, this is the reply I got:

Not sure what's going on - we run a fresh profile of Chrome/Firefox for every test we do, so we wouldn't be susceptible to any malware.
What's the URL he's referring to?

All sorted thanks Thomas... google ads was the culprit, different server locations produced different ads and ad tracking so it appeared to only affect the UK server. GT Metrix explained it to me.

Glad they managed to get in touch, I also got an email too. This is the reply for anybody interested:

    Hi Tom,
    Just updating you on this.
This is definitely due to a geo-targetted ad they're running.
Another report generated with Adblock turned on https://gtmetrix.com/reports/www.cro...t.com/5IFknNdl

A UK-specific ad is likely loading that resource. If it was malware we'd see it on all our London reports (which we don't).
    Thanks for the heads up!
