    I have a blog section on my website i,e www.mywebsite.com/blog and we have appended our website to .html so it automatically appending .html at the end. So google treating /blog and /blog.html as two different web pages an showing error as duplicate content. what should I do? Is canonical tag is good option along with redirect, plz suggest Thks

    so why did you feel you needed to add .html?

    I would firstly add the canonical tag and see if the issue is resolved.

    Would a canonical link like the one shown below resolve the double content issue? THE KEYWORD HERE IS THE HYPERLINK FOR THE ORIGINAL URL

    <a href="URL OF ORIGINAL PAGE" target="_blank" rel="canonical noopener noreferrer">KEYWORD</a></em></span><br />

    I have an idea that the canonical tag has been place wrong and should be placed like this:

    <link href="URL OF ORIGINAL PAGE" rel="canonical" />
    Can you tell me which one is correct??
