Google+ Is Now the #2 Largest Social Network In The World
I just want to share this news I came across on Google +.
"A recent report by Global Web Index has revealed that +Google+ has now surpassed Twitter in active users!"
Read the original post here: Google+ Is Now The Number Two Social Network In The World | Dustn.tv
So my question is, how long would it take for Google+ to knock down Facebook? With all the security issues on FB, they'll surely lose users in due time.

I dont see Google overtaking Facebook in 50 years unless.
1. They improve Google + visually and add some fantastic features like hangout that FB does not have and cannot copy because of copyrights.
2. Pay non techies, kids, teen, moms to use Google Plus
3. Bomb FB headquarters

But who knows, maybe in the future, it will happen, anyway Google+ is just a new social networking platform.

Thanks for share.

Even, Google Plus is a new social platform, but I believe that it will succeed in the next few years.I do not really rate this product extensions, but Facbook controlled pretty much in some countries.

That is a bit harsh but i have to agree that it would be quite sometime before Google+ can overtake Facebook or would it ever be able to, not sure. It is simply because Facebook is too dominant right now and there is no reason for you to go to Google+ when all of your friends are on Facebook.
However, the current trend is that people is not only just use Facebook or Twitter or Google+. An average man who have some basic knowledge about internet might have several social network accounts. They used all of them simultaneously, Facebook is for normal friends, Google+ is for tech - online friends, Twitter, Linkedin are for business.

Not that I disagree with your premise, but I have to bring up the fact that people said the same thing about MySpace at one point, lol.

The issue with Google + vs. Facebook is that in order to have a social network online... you have to know other people using the service. It isn't a one person decision like adopting chrome.
So right now everyone is on facebook... and a few are also on google plus, twitter, pinterest, etc. etc.
So of course new users are going to go to facebook. Even if it has the worst interface in history and is mostly just a collection of ads for flash games.
I think the possible savior for Google is that more people are using multiple networks, and many people are using third party programs to roll those networks together. Google has a solid product, but not a lot of chance of winning over the entire marketplace, at least in the short run.
PS. I am typing this on a qwerty keyboard even though I like dvorak better, learned it faster, type using it faster, etc.

Sifting through the actual data now.
First off the guy at the linked blog post needs to be slapped around until he understands how report on statistical studies and use fonts. Google+ Is Now The Number Two Social Network In The World | Dustn.tv
The ACTUAL info is at the link he provides here:GlobalWebIndex
Here is one very important point:

They do not appear to define what 'Used or contributed to' means in terms of Google plus which is very heavily integrated with their other products. For example is linking your google account to your youtube account a 'use'
Absolutely no data is provided on mean, median, inter-quartile range etc. for number of interactions per user per time frame.
Nor is ANY data on the overall number of interactions during the term provided.
So using easy numbers G+ could be #2 at 100 users 120 'uses' and twitter #3 with 80 users and 800 'uses' while facebook comes in at #1 at 150 users and 6,000 'uses'
We have no way to know. Never mind know that the 800 uses by 80 users is most users interacting 1-3 times with a small number using the crap out of it.
In other words the information is all but completely useless.

all the social networking sites are good enough. the one which matters most is where friends are chating. Today I found a news which says twitter is growing faster than google+ and facebook

Google + is improving day by day and I am sure it will achieve first position in social media in near future. Currently UI its not that much user friendly but Google will make it user friendly soon, as Google believes in providing most user friendly products to its users.
