Google blocking automated search software?
I've had a bit of a break from SEO and the first thing I notice on my return is that Google seems to be blocking WebCEO from doing rank checking and that Yahoo Site Explorer is giving me a 999 error when I use SEO Quake to find out how many backlinks competing site have got.
Not surprisingly, this is somewhat inconvenient for me. Who else is having these problems and what work-arounds, if any, are being used?

Web CEO works fine for me when rank checking, did 3 sites 2 days ago with many keywords at a time. I havent had any problems with SEO Quake as yet, maybe an update? As a note I have set Web CEO to use the proxy settings I have in Firefox.

I use IBP to check my rankings, and I've noticed that Yahoo won't return any results. Google and MSN/Live are fine - just Yahoo????

I have used webposition and it is continually blocked by the search engines. Very annoying when I am trying to do end of month ranking reports.
I use a spreadsheets now for my reports and use a formula to work out visibility % etc. |
