Is It Good to Sponsor A Link Website?

OK, so i have a question about building a website and how it might help Rankings. I am in the process of building a website to drive traffic to a parent website. This website will consist of links of every company that sells something that is relevant to what the parent company offers. The parent company will be the sponsor if the website and have their name in every place in the website. will these links help the parent company's listing in SE's? Also i have one more question. If i change the name of a website what effect will it have on the sites position?

You will need a great deal of content to offset those links...or otherwise its a link farm.

    Ohh

and don't use labels for them like:

    sponsor
    partner
    links
    featured
    etc

These are some examples of terms that are looked at for spam and paid type links.

    A link farm is

A link farm is a group of separate, highly interlinked websites, which manipulate link popularity or PageRank with the goal of improving rankings. Link farms should be avoided during a link garnering campaign.
There are actually many definitions which all chaulk up the the same thing...Low content and low value to users. Thus, they are frowned upon, by the search engines...especially Google.

And, yes..If you are not very careful you can be penalized.

You can link them, but as one of the posters said early on, make sure the content is beef and relavent and don't point them all back to the same site, over and over again. You can link back, and thats effective, just dont key word stuff the links.

Sounds like a link farm, and yes, it will hurt ultimately your rankings.
