    Forum with zero post = <meta name="robots" content="noindex, follow">

    Hello,
it is advisable for topics in forums without replies to add <meta name="robots" content="noindex, follow"> ?
The Google Panda Update punished sites with thin content.
    I have set member profiles, search, tags, and a few more to <meta name="robots" content="noindex, follow"> .
    Best regards
    Matthias

I wouldn't do it. It's a better practice to prune useless posts for your users, but I don't think it will help you much to noindex posts without replies. If you have a genuine forum going, with active users on it, don't worry about "thin content" -- it's not something that applies to individual posts, but to the site as a whole. Even short threads are unique, fresh content relevant to your forum's theme, so keep them.

    Yes, I agree with Phillip.

Unless there are more "empty" posts/threads on the forum than ones with content, I wouldn't consider noindexing them as a viable option. Even if there were actually the sheer number of "empty" posts needed for the site to be affected by Panda (highly unlikely, but as a thought experiment), I think that would speak more to the overall condition of the forum itself - something that you can't address with markup.

It's a forum, so it needs to be occasionally tended to and moderated. Get the forum's admins on this....
