For everyone who posts URL's in forums...
I wanted to discuss forum linking. If you disagree with posting your url in forums, that is fine, but please keep it to yourself. (I always post helpful posts, or start new ones)
I would like to try to make a list of good forums that are SE friendly to post in. SEcondly, how many posts do you post before leaving a forum? I usually post 10 messages then find another forum How do you find new forums to post in? forums.seochat.com - obviously SE friendly. nukecops.com - phpnuke site...SE friendly...only about php-nuke |

most vBulletin forums are not SE friendly, they have at least 1 variable, but they still index well.

i've found phpbb boards are indexed if the site is an authority site. why would you continually move forums? don't you find staying on 1, 2 or 3 forums that are really good, like this one, would make things easier?

I think he means for SEO/Linking purposes hundreds of posts aren't much better than a dozen. At the time of this post, he has 195 posts, so he must stick around the best forums. |

I post in tons of forums all day - 7 days a week. I don't do it for the PR, I do it to help affiliates and keep my name out there.
I don't really think it's helped my PR very much since I have several thousand forums posts and am only a PR 5. However if you want to find some great forums that are SE friendly, just Goooooooooogle my full name in quotes and you will find a bunch that are indexed. Hope this helps and best of luck!

I agree... what a terrible waste of time. How long would it take you to find a forum, sign up, wait for the confirmation email to get to you, click on it, log in, set up your sig, start browsing around to find some posts you can reply to... You should better use that time hunting for some quality links.

quadcity, you are exactly right...this forum is helpful to me knowledge wise...the other forums are only helpful link wise.
fryman, it takes about 1 minute to sign up in most forums and get your sig ready...then about 10 minutes and you have 5 posts...15 minutes tops per domain then I move on. |

I think forums basically pass 0 PR (probably a G control). I removed my sigs from all forums. So far I have not lost PR nor placement in the SERPs. I will wait another update or two by G to confirm. |

Thanks nacho45!
Anyone else have forums they post in? SEO_AM - I don't really care to debate it right now...a lot of my backlinks are from forums and it seems to work for me. |
