empty space on top of code
I've looked at trying to improve our rankings and one thing I noticed was that for some reason our developers left about 10 empty lines before they started with the html code of our pages. My question is could this possibly affect our SERP or will the spider just overlook the blank space.
These pages (with the empty space) were top 10 SERP pre-Florida and have never come back to more than 40-150 since no matter what I've tried. Any consensus on this? Besides just being bad coding can this be hurting us in any way? Thanks, BBB |

The easiest thing to do is get rid of the white space and test it. In any case, it is most likely not hurting your rankings, but it never hurts to make your file sizes smaller, and getting rid of the space will help that. I wouldn't pin your hopes on regaining your rankings by getting rid of it, but hey, delete them and see. What do you have to lose?
