Effective URL's
hello,
do spider's read %20's as spaces? if they do, wouldnt http://seochat.com/seo%20services.html be better than http://seochat.com/seo-services.html would they both be weighted the same? the latter before the former? or visa versa? |

Sounds like a good question for the Gods of Google eh!
I would think you'd do better with a simple hyphen, underscores are often not read wherein your word simply runs together in the engines eye, but hypens do keep your words seperated in most cases. %20 Is anybody's guess! Because I don't no of anyone who's registered an address inclusive of that. |

i dont know why anyone would want to use %20's in their urls. the ones is see...i look at and say to myself...that goofball has a space in the file name.....oops. please note... i did a google search for 'web%20design': http://www.google.com/search?num=10...G=Google+Search the results tell the story... google ignores the '%'. so it only sees the 'web' and '20design'. so the second word is messed up as a keyword. google never sees the word 'design'. now the final question would be does google process the url text before or after parsing the url. either way...why mess with '%20' when the hyphen gets the job done so nicely without taking any chances. :-)
