    Question Duplicate content or not?

    Hello,

I read more and more about the negative effects about double content. I have a few questions about a website and, if needed, how to improve the situation.

We have a few domain names, letís say:
    - englishdomain
    - germandomain
    - spannishdomain
    - dutchdomain

the englsihdomain was the first domain name and contains al the content. We always used englishdomain/de/ for the germen content, /es/ for Spanish etc.

Because of the fact that the site always worked fine, scored ok in search engines we havenít changed this situation.

The language domain names are being redirected at server level. So dutchdomain will be directed by a served side script to englishdomain/nl/.

Now is my question, does the search engines see this as double content? englishdomain/nl/ has the same content as dutchdomain... Or do the search engines see the server side redirection and accept this?

If this is working negative, what is the best solution?

    Kind regards,
    HaV

What kind of redirect are you doing? If its a 301 Redirect, then you should be fine.

i'll have to check what kind of redirections has been used... but when using a 301... doesn't that mean that the searchengines will forget about the language domainnames?

we just registered those, because they contain the most important keywords in the different languages.

Would it be better to redirect englishdomainname/en/ with a 301 to the englishdomainname?

    Hi,

In your case search engine ignore this because of different language subdomain of same company and providing same services.

    Regard,
