Dumbest post ever: just realized I have a PR 7

It's a domain I neglected for years, and took without thinking in my recent divorce.

It's a PR 7 (really old). It's had nothing for a long time, not even a page, just a "this page hosted by blah blah" message.

So now, my thoughts are:

- breathe. breathe.
- wow, that makes me really stupid.
- can Google take away the PR for lack of meaningful content? What I mean is, for long-term survival, should I attempt to put something up that looks like it merits a PR 7?
- What would you do with this, other than obviously include a good text link to your other sites? It's a generic corporate style domain.

Well, what I would do, is have you put a link to MY domain.
Then, on my domain, I will link to your other sites- that way, you can get your PR in two steps at once!

Honestly, I'd take an SEO Elite-type program, and see what the anchor text is that is linking to you - then, create a web page around that, and throw up some Adwords / targeted PPC until you decided what to do with it. That might not be the best decision, but it is easy, and takes near no effort.

In fact - I'll do an anchor link check for you, in exchange for a link. Deal?

Good advice, McM. Thanks. But I just realized, maybe I'm not so stupid after all (well, probably yes, but ...) The backlinks Google shows to my site ... aren't to my site. I mean, the pages Google shows as backlinks do not include my URL at all. So maybe I don't have a PR 7, but something else is going on. No clue what though.

Why do people like to play these guessing games?? The only way we can tell you if your domain really has a PR7 is posting it, and I could bet it doesn't. Looks like it sucked the PR from the site where it was parked.

That could be, but it's been parked there for so long ... years. And I just don't get why sites that aren't linking to it are listed as backlinks.
