Domain name with keyword in it
Hello,
One of the domain name is also a keyword and it is optimized basically for Search engine. Still when we give a search for the same keyword no search results appeared with the same domain name. I expect that being a keyword in the domain name, it should at least appear in the first 10 results. It is not appearing even in first 300 or may be in 500 results. Some of the other domain names for which I worked given the positive results to me and it is coming in the top 10 list being a keyword in the domain name. Why this is happening? I had tried all the on page SEO techniques. I know that it is not necessary to come the domain name in some first No., but it should be expected to list in first 1000! Thanks in advance for any advice. |

How many inbound links do you have, and how many have the keywords as anchor text?
The domain name alone will not get you a top 10 spot. Quote:

You've answered your question by yourself!! This concept may be applicable with the keywords that are not heavily competitive but not in the case of tough competition. Its a minor minor factor and you seem to be relying on it a bit too heavily. Having a domain name with a keyword does not means the battle is won.

you have good start with main keyword in Domain. Now you need to make popular either domain or keyword...and you can do it with single task. Put your main keyword in anchor text and build some nice link back. both URL and keyword will be popular with single task.

sometimes it depends on the IBL of your site. Even your keyword is in the url it still needs links to be visible in the SERP.

If this were the case, I would buy onlinecasinogames123.com and make Millions. So it makes sense to know that you have to give Google More Credit than that. If your keyword was Golf and you had Golf.com I would do Golf1.com and be neck and neck with you. Google is going to look to see WHY they should rank your site #1. If they see that you have amazing content that isn't recycled like most and you have people thank put links on their site back to your site with a related keyphrase that you are targeting, then google says ahhh this high PR site just ranked to this guys site...We will rank it a little higher. In a nutshell, that is what it is going to take to move your site up the ladder. It takes a lot of time and patience wich can also be traded for creativity if you have a well executed idea that you get in front of people and gain a lot of links. |

Thanks for the replies. In the site there are inbound links as well as outbound links. Domain and pages are about 3 years old. Pages are well optimized for general search engine rule, not specific to Google. Only the daily traffic is very low. Still domain name is not appearing in the first 1000 search list. Still I am hopeful and keeping patience for positive listing. |

Check your allinanchor
Quote:
Do a search on google for allinanchor:[your site name] This will show how you would rank if sites were ranked only by the inbound links. If you don't rank well here... then that is your problem. You will need to get more links. It is not about the site name, it is about the incoming links.
