Does SE count subdomain sites..???
Is it a good idea to have subdomain websites under one of your own domain name rather than gettin a new domain it self in terms of SEO..?

Well, in terms of SE's, every subdomain is like a new website...or domain....even www !!
But I have seen instances that subdomains of high profile domains get rankings better and faster....there is something to do with the main website that helps. I have run tests on these and what I am saying is based on a 20 weeks study/research work. Result: I have many websites running on subdomains
