Fortunately no, but on the other side to much ads in SERP can reduce your visibility and therefore your ranking CTR (% of clicks per impressions)

    Irrelevant... I'm out!!

Yes -- traffic is a ranking factor. Doubt if it works out like that from Google ads... but you can drive paid traffic to a site to help with ranking.

Can you quote a source for such an answer?

I'll be glad to change my mind but (during webmaster office hours hangouts or maybe it was at SMX I'll have to double-check) a Google engineer stated that traffic was neither a direct or indirect ranking factor and that it couldn't be because not every site used Google analytics and that they were incapable of tracking websites trafic.

Edit: Wanted to disagree with your answer but miss clicked or system error who cares I still disagree

That's ok - agree to disagree 🙂. Not looking to change anyone's views.

Help with your SERP? Not directly and not by very much.

User experience and bounce rate affect your SEO though. If the UX is great and the bounce rate is low, that would help...but it shouldn't be a tactic to improve your SEO.

Try not at all, directly or indirectly.

As for bounce rate / CTR and factors like that they also have no effect on SERPS.
Last year I ran a series of tests to measure these against SERPS and all failed to influence SERPS.

Why do you think that paid search effects organic ranks?

I guess you could argue PPC brings in traffic (hopefully) and the more traffic you are hoping for some organic backlinks being created which in turn may help your SERPS.
Its a quite expensive long winded hopeful root to gaining backlinks.

I would suggest a facebook group would be a far easier method of gaining the traffic to achieve the same results. However I have never been a fan of PPC so I maybe biased as I have never seen a successful campaign regarding ROI. I know many will disagree with that but that's been sites I have tried it on.

Rather than using ppc in an attempt to raise your organic rankings
Which is a waste of time and money, but concentrate on content, internal link structure.

I have a feeling Ads and traffic do influence local business listings to some extent. May be its the activities on your google local listing ad extension that plays the part or something. We have not tested it, but from experience I can say brand new properties (local business) with google ads / social media ads did better than the ones with no ads. This is again limited to google local listing results.
