Would you rather read about a kid who does SEO, or would you rather read about a 43 year old guy doing SEO?
What about if the kid does so good seo that he is number 1 for a specific keyword even though that in his last 13 articles he hasn't talked about that specific keyword AT ALL.

Will we be writing in the future about lying about your age to do better SEO?
Go Viral .... Hide your age
how old are you btw?

Age doesn't matter if you got to that place and can do the job obviously you got there by study and hardwork and have learned how to participate in the industry.

I think young people offer a fresh and different way to approach things and have much to offer. If I like the content I will read what written whether young or old.

If you are refering to the age of the seo, then no it is not a factor, i wouldnt disclose my age but give them information on my results and references. Then once i have given them that top 3 ranking and we meet, they realise age is completely irrelevant!

If on the other hand its who wrote the content on a website then possibly. but how would you know the age of the person? Many websites will not have information about the people who write the content. But it wouldnt matter if the content was good quality.

On this forum... Fathom, EGOL and myself are quite elderly. I am a grandfather and both EGOL and Fathom are retired. Come to your own conclusions.

I have benefited from EGOL wisdom myself. I always appreciate his comments. Don't mistake there is much to be said for wisdom good old knowledge and experience.

I think many young people started when they were 14 and by the time they are 24 they are wise young people. The only fault they usually have is they seem to think there age will cause people not to take them serious. As with everything time will resolve this to.

Ummm, we can't really judge now can we. I don't know any of your sites, nor EGOL's. I know one of fathom's and the last time I looked he hadn't listed my website -- so yeah I may be biased

So what was your point again?

Age of the SEOer? Oh. hahaha. That changes my answer! Or does it? hmmmmmm.

I would say experience is a major factor, but not the age of the person. I am nearly pushing 50 but I started doing SEO at 39 and I basically taught myself through trial and error. There are nodoubt experts who started in their late teens... and there are probably lots of young whippersnappers who learned quickly under the wing of a more experienced expert.

I was AOL's FunBayArea. I wrote entertainment columns listing fun things to do all around San Francisco Bay Area each week.

Before that... video production... which is also very target market orientated.

I kind of stumbled into the SEO thing. I took what I thought would be a temparary job at a search engine submission company, handling customer support. I tried handling around 300 people a day freaking out that they'd been scammed because they couldn't find their site top listed only hours after it had been submitted.

Even if it had been submitted 2 months ago, noone had answers as to why some top listed and others didn't, so I started studing it, looking at the sites, figuring what was wrong... usually something easy like page titles "Home" or they were using Frames without noframes content. SEO was much easier back then.
