    Let's clarify this....

Are you saying for two different keywords, the same page showed up in the SERPS, but with a different meta description?

If this is what you are asking, then the answer is simple.

Google reserves the right to change your title, description based on the searcher's query.
    Google will do this when....

    A. The page has no meta description.
    or
    B. It thinks the description is not correct for the page and the page answers the user's query.

The ultimate goal of Google is to provide the most relevant search results possible for any given search query.
There are many possible cases where Google will not display your title or meta description. Here are a few potential scenarios:

    • The title or meta description you specified is not relevant to the search query.
    • If your title or meta description is too short or too long.
    • The title or meta description is not an accurate reflection of what your page is really about
    • There are multiple existences of the title or meta description in your HTML code

Sometimes, Google shows different meta description to different users. Because they leave meta description field as empty.

Examples of different page descriptions in SERPs

G's SERP descriptions have always potentially been different for most search queries.

G grabs snippets of text from a web page that relates to the search query words. The exact description meta tag may only be used if you search for a company name.

    Example Search Queries:

    Q1: SEO forums

Desc: SEO Chat - The home of all Search Engine Optimization resources. Aside from being the home of the popular Google-Dance tool, Seo Chat also contains a ...

    Q1: SEO forums help

Both these SERP links go to forums.seochat.com/.
