Difference between Backlinks To Page (BLP) & Backlinks To Domain (BLD)

I was given advise (not from this forum) that it is easier to rank higher if you focus on Backlinks To Page compared to Backlink To Domain. Is this true???

Difference between Backlinks To Page (BLP) & Backlinks To Domain (BLD)

BLP means the number of backlinks to a particular page.

BLD means the number of backlinks pointing to the domain.

Domain of your website is your whole website which included all pages of your website.

If you are always targeting to backlink to domain so you that time you will every time targeting same page so this can be spamming but if you are target to different pages of website so pointing to different pages, this will definitely help you lot.

BLP is an better idea than BLD...
Because BLP targeted the separated pages which will help to user to find out your websites easily...
