Database vs HTML page e-comm sites

My question to the experts is:

Is it preferred to have a totally database driven e-comm site or an HTML based set of product pages connected to a shopping cart as far as SEO is concerned?

For example this site is database driven www.3d-magic.ca while this site www.denali-office-products.com has product pages which could hook into a shopping cart.

My reason for asking is that I am about to start a new e-comm site (car audio) and want a chance to rank high.

Both versions are equally seo able with regards to rank, however dont let such concerns dictate your final choice. Make your choice based on feasibility for your construct as well as user friendliness. Remember though you need variable fields in your header if you go with a dbase so you can optimize each page for different keys

    PHP, MySQL and SEO

I think the question that has been tormenting me for quite some time might be answered on this thread... My team works a lot with PHP and MySQL... therefore, the files I need to optimize for search engines (sometimes a few hundreds) are numbered (e.g. 1.php, 2.php etc.). I requested a special form from the programmers that allows me to insert metatags in the numbered files mentioned above. Would this help (apart from the usual keyword-rich text and text-linking etc.) ? Would the crawlers (especially google's) follow those links to... number.php? Does the crawler understand and interpret PHP? (Sorry if the questions might be stupid, I've only been trying to do SEO for a couple of months).

No question is ever stupid my friend and welcome to SEO chat incidentally a great example of an answer to your question. .php .html .asp .shtml and most other file extensions are easily handled by google see http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...Aseochat%2Ecom
Make sure your header is editable as your title is your most important onpage element the rest of your header is not as important
