Creating profiles on networking sites, is it helpful ?
Hello,
My question is related to creating profiles on networking sites and its impact on SEO.
Most of such site's have a field where we can enter a URL. What are conditions that these URL's will be visible to search engines ?
Do you recommend this ?

I recommend it.
I recommend it. But you will need to contribute in that site. Only making profile will not work. You will need to contribute in forum or social site and help other in genuine and fair way.

One question here,
Say for example I am able to view a page(with a link), abc.com/profile/my-page after logging out, would search engine be also able to view and crawl them ?

Search Engine is able to crawl your profile page but I want to tell you few facts about profile links.
1. If you create 100 profiles automatically without adding content and photo and about yourself description or just copy paste description, probably you will get very less backlinks benefit.
2. When you help people in forums and contribute in blogs or comment on other topic, you can get maximum benefit of profile links.

The right answer is, It depends on the site. Putting URL in a site is a good SEO practice specially if your account is active. Will it be visible? the answer still, "it depends" on the coding of the site. Some site like pinterest, fb and twitter let you choose if you want search engine to index your page but there are some sites that lets search engine crawl your profile page. Take for example my account here <snip> I think the coding of the site does not restrict the indexation thus allowing the search engine to crawl the URL of your site.
Hope it helps
