Creating new websites for backlinks...

Is it worth creating 2 or 3 websites to get targetted backlinks?

Or is this cheating the system?

OR

Is it obvious I am a complete novice and I should sit down...

This is actually a very frequently asked question and will be added to the next "Update".

The short answer is no, it is not worth it. In order to pass the benefit of the link, you would need to have a well built up site and get backlinks for that site. The amount of work you would have to do, would be better spent getting links for the original site. Just putting up a page then putting a link on it will give you no benefit.

The other issue is that all your "new" domains will tend to be on the same IP. This is fine if its one site but you will get nothing if you do massive crosslinking between those domains. Again, the time spent could be well placed elsewhere.

I know it seems like an easy way but the amount of work involved to make this pay off is 10 times what it would take to just get your original site to rank. Hit the FAQ and read, read, read.

I really want to get stuck in to my new web site but I can't start unless I get some money!

You see I am starting a business in Australia when I sell my house here...

Do you know if it's worth starting a text only web site which I can start getting my keywords and backlinks organised then incorporate them into the new site when it's finished?

PS. If you have a minute can you look at this site for me - www.blankmedia.ca - the guy who is designing my site designed this one and is going to give me the same site but with my logo etc.

It has a PR of 4 which isn't too bad but my two concerns are

1. It uses frames
2. It uses dynamic content

Is it worth me getting him to redesign it without frames? I know the dynamic content can be worked around with ISAPIrewrite...
