Couple General Questions about Link Popularity

I have a client in Germany who has two hotels. Very upscale hotels. I went to Google and requested to find which web sites are linked to his two sites. Both only showed maybe five or six sites linking to his sites. THis confused him as he said there are many sites that link to him and he wondered why they did not show up. I told him more than likely these sites are not indexed by Google. Is this correct?

One last question. One of the sites does have a link to his site is an escort service out of Vienna. As this site is borderline porno, will that affect his sites ranking, etc.

No. they may very well be indexed by Google..In Fact, probably are. The results that google is showing are a bit of a mystery. It used to be only PR4+ but that has changed. I would read through some of the theories in the Google Optimisation section as there are too many to list.

It will not hurt his ranking even if the site is banned as you cannot control who links to you. If you are asking if that link will help you, that will depnd on some different factors such as the PR of their site, content (this is where you may see no benefit unless there is a list of hotels the escorts like , and the amount of other links they have on that page)
