    Combining two sites

I have two websites that feature my two Jeeps. One for my Wrangler and one for my Cherokee. The Cherokee site gets about 120 uniques a day and pr of 2. The Wrangler site has a pr of 0 and gets about 30 uniques a day and growing. Would it be beneficial to combine these two sites together to a new url and use 301's from the old urls? Or should I just leave them as is? Any thoughts?

It will be beneficial if you combine these two sites together to a new URL and use 301's from the old URLs. This will combine your overall traffic to new URL, increasing the ranking and visibility.

If both of these sites are small and you do not expect to be expanding each on their own, I think it would be best for you to combine them. Whether or not you choose to redirect them both to a new domain or just add the content of your Wrangler site to your cherokee site is really up to you. Either way, like Petrick said use a 301 redirect from the old URLs to the new to combine the traffic from both to one site. Remember to update your internal linking to point directly to the new URLs. Creating new content to add to the site for both jeeps along with additional pages of content (info related to the jeeps) to them can to help increase your site's visibility through new pages that target related keyword phrases.

Purge content then conduct proper 301 redirects.

I'd create a sub page for Wrangler on the Cherokee site and move your content under that, then 301 the old domain to that sub page.
Why do you want to use a new domain name for both?

I like the idea of having a url that is not specific to either and I can add general jeep content to as well. The site names are myjeepxj com and myjeeplj com. A less specific domain name is what I am thinking.

Your all about advertising, you have way too many ad's above the fold. Changing domain names isn't going to help you gain more advertising dollars.
    But good luck anyway.
