    Question cloaking and FLASH

Checking into a big drop in GOOGLE placement under the keyword "Fractions",
I looked into sitechecker.pro and they claim that one of my critical errors is:

    Google: page isn't same.
Cloaking is considered a violation of Google’s Webmaster Guidelines because it
provides users with different results than they expected.

At one time visualfractions.com pages were built with FLASH animation but after
reading that the IPAD and now many browsers are not crazy about running
FLASH aps I decided to switch over to ADOBE ANIMATE CC to write
    animations with javascript. All done.
Since then I sent in a new sitemap.xml file that lists only the javascript versions
of the animations. I removed the FLASH versions from the xml file on the site
but the FLASH versions are still on site.

My guess is that is where Google thinks the "cloaking" is going on. I like to leave
the FLASH versions up because there are many links to them.

    Here is what I'm considering:
Listing the FLASH animations in the robots.txt files such as:

    Disallow: ../CompareL/comparel.html

    Any opinions on this matter?

    My recommendation..

Use 301 redirects on the old urls pointing to the new urls.

Remove the old pages one at a time as you migrate to the new format.

This makes sense to use the 301 redirect. There are over 70 FLASH animations on the visualfractions.com website so the .htaccess file will be quite large.

    Thank you for your input.

    Don't worry about the overhead.

Not because it doesn't impact loading, but in your particular case the impact will be quite minimal.

All 301 redirects from the FLASH to ANIMATE CC apps are complete and have been sent up about a week ago.
I noticed soon after uploading that Google search under the keyword "fractions" had moved from 25th place to 15th place with GOOGLE SEARCH and had moved from not showing to 5th place with BING SEARCH.
This lasted 2 days and visualfractios.com went back to 25th place with GOOGLE and not showing with BING. That lasted a day and this morning visualfractions.com went to 17th place with GOOGLE and 2nd place with BING with key word "fractions".

I should point out that with more specific key words such as "fractions progress" visual fractions.com has always come in 1st place with both GOOGLE and BING.

My guess is that with the changing from FLASH to ANIMATE CC(java) and adding the secure layer to https, that there is some sifting to do and it might take a while for the search placement to stop bouncing around. Use of visualfractions.com has actually increased lately with over 4,500 users last week, according to Google Analytics.

Glad to hear you are doing better in the serps.

Yes, there will be some settling as Google re-evaluates your site.

I am going to point out another issue you have...

    This url >>> visualfractions.com/MixtoFr/

It is badly formatted...not exactly what I would call SEO friendly...

    Consider these instead

    visualfractions.com/Mixed-to-Fraction/

    visualfractions.com/Mixed-numbers-to-Fractions/

Before you make the obvious observation... yes this will require you to make a redirect for it.

I do believe this will improve your visits and ranking. It puts Fractions in the url and that carries some weight as far as ranking goes.
Either of the above will perform better for you, I prefer the second myself. It also explains the page most adequately

Because this is an educational site, I don't mind providing these additional tips to help you rank your site.

    Edited to add..
All of these pages you link to from your content, I suggest you put a hyphen between the words and use them as your page urls.
