Check out SEO Scoop in DazzlinDonna's profile

Dazzlin continues to help us all...even when she isn't posting here. Her blog on SEO is very helpful. Today I saw her mention of Posttrades tool that, as she mentions, adds information about the number of unique urls for backlinks (for you and competitors).

Very interesting.

We work on both maintaining our SERPs and trying to get higher. While we focus on regional qualified traffic we continue to add backlinks a little at a time. We try for theme based relevant backlinks whereever possible.

In comparison with the 4 sites above us in Google for our main keyword phrase they all have dramaticly more overall bls. 3 of them have dramatically more internal pages. We generally rank above them in the allins.

For the first time though I could measure and compare number of unique urls for backlinks. They have more but not much more. Not in any way comparable to the difference in total backlinks. If google has devalued sitewides then we should be catching up in some time as I know our effort for new themed backlinks is moving at a higher rate.

One more insightful tool.

Thanks D for that insight.

Dave

Yea, as DD writes "You can find this tool in the top right hand corner of www.posttrades.com/forum/" and that is pretty nifty ... if I were to nitpick, I'd say a really useful additional feature would be if you could have those unique domains listed, with possible drilldown to see what exactly the links are from each of those.
