    changing all article URLs

    Hi.

    we have an online store.
at first, we decided to build some categories for publishing articles.

but now we see that all these categories are not important and they just make URLs long.

now I want to make a blog and put all the articles in it, and then redirect all URLs to the new ones.
by doing this all our article URLs will be clean and short.

is this worth doing? doesn't it effect on our website traffic?
    What do you guys recommend?

A lot of the guys use the expression "If it isn't broken don't fix it".

Saying that, the migration is pretty simple. /long-url-about-something-i-don't-know-what/ > 301 redirect > /new-url/

If the 301 redirects are done correctly you should be ok. If you're getting good traffic, I recommend hiring a professional so the damage is minimal.

you can use 301 redirects for changing URL, it's easy and safe for the site. link juice of pages would be the same because the old value would be pass to new URL of the site by Search engine crawler.
301 redirection used for permanently changing URL while 302 redirections used for temporary changing URL.

Redirecting Old URLs to New URLs by using 301 Redirect is a safe practice, i have used it several times. It doesn't affect the website traffic but it might affect your ranking minorly. If your redirect process is perfectly fine, your ranking will be back within few days.
