Can search engines read content in Sliders

I'm looking to install a wordpress sliders. I was just wondering (I know it obviously depends on the slider). But if its got a text element (not picture) can the search engine robots read it?

    Thanks

The answer is probably yes but it does depend on which slider you are using.

If it is mainly implemented by code that exists when you access the page and it uses mainly CSS to show and hide the content then there is a high likelihood it will be read.

If it is implemented mainly by AJAX function calls and loading content not accessible on the page source code then it is less likely, however still possible.

If it is using Javascript to modify some text elements then there is also a medium likelihood it will be read.

The question remains: do they WANT to read it (if it's all Javascript and stuff)? Most often they do not.

Spiders read page source code , so if slider was written by programming language that don't appear in source code then search engines just can't catch that .
How I know most of sliders written by java , and I'm sure that Java isn't the best programming language for SEO .
